Maui Ready for Change?image

People on Maui are living at risk with a hospital that belongs in the "Third World". People complain and worry but when the time comes to do more than "talk the talk", many of our citizens fall in line with the Union Leadership. A Leadership that is dedicated to keeping the status quo with Maui Memorial. The Shields campaign reached out to thousands of people and most of those voted for Jan and a private hospital. Jan Shields

www.shields4senate.com
Jan is the long recognized advocate of improved healthcare facilities for Maui. She partnered with Dr. Ron Kwon on the Malulani project which would have provided Maui with new facilities at no cost to the taxpayer. Current Senator Baker promised to assist Maui in this effort but when the needed legislation was introduced, Senator Baker voted against it. HGEA Surprise Endorsements!

Image

After days and days of deliberation, the HGEA issued an endorsement of candidates for the 2008 elections. The HGEA is one of the largest unions in Hawaii with members of all political parties. Coming as a surprise to the Republican and Independent members, the HGEA leadership continued their 'plantation style' by endorsing only Democrats!

Truth be told, no one was surprised with the endorsement. The HGEA has long forgotten that they owe represenation to their members but view themselves above the wage earners forced to subsidize their lifestyle.

Teachers Union Receives "F" for Integrity

Image
The Hawaii State Teachers Association agreed to a random drug testing program in their 2007 contract which included significant wage increases. Now, after receiving most of the raises (paid by Taxpayers), the Union is reneging on their contract. Once again, we see the Union failing its members and the students they are hired to serve.
